A guide to trans-seasonal dressing

As the weather starts to cool down and the autumn leaves are falling, it’s that time of year again when it isn't too hot, or too cold, and the question of “what do I wear”? becomes more prominent than usual.

It’s this time of year where the mornings are chilly but the days are warm, where trans-seasonal dressing becomes a must. Having pieces in your wardrobe that can be worn all year round, season to season is key in preparing yourself for the unpredictable. Trans-seasonal items are perfect to wear all year round being not only versatile but more sustainable too, being a win for the environment and your wallet! Here are some of our best tips and tricks when it comes to trans-seasonal dressing.

Layer baby!

This is best for those days when it starts off freezing cold, but turns into a beautiful summer’s day by lunch. Having pieces of clothing that you can easily add or subtract from your outfit like jackets, cardigans and jumpers are great for these days! Denim jackets are the perfect layering item being super easy to pop on over dresses and look just as cute tied around your waist for when it gets too hot.

Invest in knits

Knit pieces are extremely easy to wear and are always in fashion. The weight of a knit is also perfect for this time of year - not too heavy or too light. Try going for a knit dress or pants, that way either can be layered with a jacker or jumper on top.

Swap out those sandals

When the weather starts to get cold, swapping out your sandals for ankle boots or white sneakers are a great way to add that extra bit of warmth. Even if you're wearing something lightweight, having closed in shoes can help to balance out the outfit
