Fashion Revolution week takes place between the 20th and 24th of April each year with the intent to promote a safer, more transparent and accountable fashion industry through research, collaboration and advocacy. It falls on the anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse which tragically killed more than 1000 people in 2013 but marked a crucial turning point for many to come together in support of systematic change in the industry.
As a non-profit, global movement we are proud to be part of the #whomademyclothes campaign. At Girl and the Sun, we share the same beliefs for a global fashion industry that conserves and restores the environment and values people over growth and profit
We recognise that it wouldn’t be possible for us to do what we love without the hard work of our amazing production teams. All of our garments are manufactured by our dedicated teams in Dongguan, China who manage our sampling process as well as cutting, sewing and detailing. We have worked with the same teams for many years and maintain close working relationships with all of our staff, visiting the factories several times a year. We are proud to say that all of our production complies with ethical standards as well as health and safety.
